Branden Nkhahle
I am Branden Nkhahle, a 3rd year Electrical Engineering student at the University of Cape Town. Growing up in Kraaifontein, a township where weekends are often loud with parties, drinking, and even gunshots, studying at home was never easy. The environment was not always conducive to learning, making it difficult to focus on schoolwork.
The afterschool program by RNDA provided the space and support I needed to study in a safe and focused environment. It gave me access to quality teaching and learning opportunities that helped me push through high school and get into university.
Now, as a university student, money often gets tight, and essentials like food and toiletries can become a challenge. Being able to work for RNDA, helping other learners just like I once was, has not only allowed me to give back but has also provided financial relief. The program has truly been a lifeline, and I am grateful for the opportunities it continues to provide.
