Our Market Gardens
Market Gardens
The Market Garden Initiative is a dynamic response to South Africa’s pressing socio-economic challenges, designed to empower youth and vulnerable women through sustainable, small-scale agricultural ventures. Spearheaded by the RNDA, this initiative combines practical agricultural training with entrepreneurial support to create viable, income-generating opportunities in rural and township communities.
With youth unemployment at an alarming 45% and female unemployment at 35.8%, as reported by Statistics South Africa, the need for inclusive, livelihood-enhancing solutions is more urgent than ever. The Market Garden Initiative directly addresses this gap by equipping participants with the skills, tools, and business acumen required to thrive in the agricultural sector.
